The Canada Pension Plan Disability (CPPD) benefit is a monthly payment. It is available to those who have contributed recently to the Canada Pension Plan while working and then became unable to work at any job on a regular basis due to a disability. The purpose of this benefit is to replace a portion of employment earnings. The benefit is approved on a basis of how the medical treatment and its condition hinder your ability to work on a regular basis. Who is eligible for the Canada Pension Plan disability benefit?
To be eligible for the Canada Pension Plan disability benefit there are conditions that an applicant must meet:
Under the age of 65
Stopped working because of medical condition
Paid into CPP for at least four of the last six years
Disability must be severe and prolonged
