The Canada Pension Plan Disability (CPPD) benefit is a monthly payment. It is available to those who have contributed recently to the Canada Pension Plan while working and then became unable to work at any job on a regular basis due to a disability. The purpose of this benefit is to replace a portion of employment earnings. Who is eligible for the Canada Pension Plan disability benefit?
To be eligible for the Canada Pension Plan disability benefit there are conditions that an applicant must meet:
Under the age of 65
Stopped working because of medical condition
Paid into CPP for at least four of the last six years
Disability must be severe and prolonged
